Civil People come from all walks of life – there is a large variety of roles within the Civil Infrastructure industry.

Workforce Development is a key role for the Civil Contractors Federation NSW which is done through a number of initiatives and programs outlined below.


WOMEN IN CIVIL 

CCF NSW launched the Women in Civil Program in 2017, in order to encourage more women to join and remain in the Civil Infrastructure Industry. The CCF NSW Women in Civil Program consists of six elements, including the Mentoring Program that is about to launch its fifth round!

We are also very excited to announce that we have released our 50by50 vision for the NSW civil construction industry. On the 19th October 2021 we submitted to the NSW Government a Proposal to significantly expand the Program. Click the link to find out about this and more!

THE INSTITUTE OF CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE

The Institute of Civil Infrastructure provides civil-specific short-course training solutions for leading hands, supervisors, engineers, managers and leaders. Created by the industry for the industry the courses offered cover technical, people, and business management issues. The Institute allows employers to manage quickly and at very low cost their skill gap risks while also creating a significant point of difference as an employer of choice. 
The Institute is Australia’s only industry run Continual Professional Development specific to the Civil Industry. Individuals can achieve recognised standards that strengthen and sustain the industry.

Aboriginal Participation

ABORIGINAL PARTICIPATION IN CONSTRUCTION

CCF NSW offers a raft of services for Members that assist with employing Aboriginal people and engaging Aboriginal run companies. Including within this is our Find a Business Register Directory, our APIC Certification Audit, and our Civil Employer Toolkit, constructed with the support of the NSW Government.
